IP's transfer stayed
COLOMBO: The National Police Commission has instructed Inspector
General of Police that the transfer of Chief Inspector Priyantha
Liyanage of the Police Narcotics Bureau to the Sri Lanka Police College,
Kalutara be stayed until the Commission finally decides on his appeal
forwarded to them.
The letter dated August 28, 2006 stated that with reference to the
appeal against Chief Inspector Liyanage's transfer, the commission had
requested a report on him from the IGP.
The "Daily News" highlighted Chief Inspector Liyanage's plight on
August 28 and his creditable record in arresting suspects and seizing
drugs. |
