Collective action could achieve goals - Deputy UN Res. Rep.

COLOMBO: In this world of extreme complexities no single organisation
could reach its goals without collective action.
"Hence let us work together to create a better world for everyone
living on this planet" U.N. Resident Deputy Representative Bengt Messing
said at the inaugural of the 43rd Scout Camporee held at the Vihara Maha
Devi Park,recently.
Participating as chief guest at the ceremony Bengt Messing said "
making this world a better place for all to live while maintaining
international peace and security and,at the same time ensure
socio-economic progress with freedom was the main objective of the UN in
which he has the honoured to serve for past 20 years.
"UN is not a youth organisation like the World Scout Organisation
which looks into the well-being of our younger generation. I am proud to
called myself a member of this prestigious organisation ", he added.
Citing some of the world leaders in politics and business like
Bill Gates, George.W.Bush and Bill Clinton,the UN Resident
Representative said that they were men moulded by the Scout Movement
when they were young.
The students who were selected best received their certificates of
achievement from Bengt Messing, Exco Chairman Nanda Corea and Colombo
Mayor Mohomed Imthias. |
