Sharjah Airport arrival hall opens

SHARJAH, UAE: Sharjah International Airport received the first flight in the new arrival hall recently. Passengers landed with the Air Arabia flight ABY G9 122 from Kuwait and were welcomed by the airport's staff with red roses. A small reception was organised with flowers and giveaways being distributed to passengers along with refreshments.

The Arrival Hall space is increased from 90 square meters to 500 square meters and is one phase of Sharjah International Airport Expansion project which once completed will accommodate 8 million passengers annually.

Mayank Dhingra, Air Arabia's Country Manager Sri Lanka said, "The new airport will be both modern and convenient and facilitate Air Arabia passengers greatly. The expansion project is a result of the dramatic increase in passenger numbers into Sharjah and the growing popularity of Air Arabia."

Located in the midst of the thriving and bustling Sharjah city famed for its culture, heritage and numerous tourist attractions, Sharjah International Airport (SIA) is becoming one of the fastest growing airports in the region.
