Showing daya to Daya Master

A plea was made for a 'Daya Master'
Known to us as LTTE broadcaster,
Though responsible for much violence, sectarian,
A case was made on grounds humanitarian.

As the favour was asked from the 'enemy' South,
There were protests from many a mouth.
But President Mahinda, showing some clemency,
Consented, while others declared "it's lunacy".

The heart in peril was put to right.
Hoping that the hand that fed he would not bite,
Kindness and compassion the President did show,
But the meaning of these Daya does not know.

One good turn deserves another,
An appeal was made by brother to brother,
For the innocent police officer in a Northern jail,
But all these appeals were destined to fail.

An example of a saying held sacred,
"Hatred never ceases by hatred"
Isn't the South being taken for a ride,
As Norway too has taken their side!
