'Media Guide of Sri Lanka' launched
COLOMBO: Environmental Journalist Dharman Wickremaratne
presented the first copy of his latest book titled Media Guide of Sri
Lanka, 7th Edition to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the BMICH,
recently.
Environmental and Mahaweli Development Minister Maithreepala Sirisena
and Central Environmental Authority Chairman Karunasena Hettiarachchi
were also present. Wickremaratne has authored nearly 50 books on
environment and media education.
This directory is an attempt to fill a timely need of public interest
in the country, said the President.
The purpose of this media directory is to help media and public
communicate more effectively with each other.
According to the Sri Lanka Environmental Journalist Forum (SLEJF)
this directory consists of 264 pages with profiles of nearly 750
addresses, resources, geographic coverage, activities, target groups of
art galleries, cultural bodies, development agencies, drama theatres,
foreign missions, government media organisations media agencies, media
organisations, media trainers, Cabinet and Non Cabinet Ministry
information secretaries, newspapers, political parties media spokesmen,
radio stations and broadcasting companies, Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry
Press attaches abroad, street drama groups, training institutes and TV
stations and broadcasting companies.
