Royal-Musaeus takes the lead

Athletics: Royal College and Musaeus College Colombo, lead the points table with 49 and 45 points at the end of the 2nd day of the John Tarbat Schools Junior Athletics Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Ltd.

St. Joseph's College follows Royal College in the boys's category with 41 points and Marus Stella College, Negombo is in the third position with 29 points.

St. Bridget's Convent and Ladies College Colombo are in the 2nd and 3rd positions following Musaues in the girls' division.

Nethmi de Silva of Musaeus College finished the under 13, 200 metres event in 27.9 seconds with a new games record beating the record of 28.1 seconds set by Nushanthi Gunasekara of Ave Maria Convent Negombo in 1995.

Dhanushki Perera of Ladies College Colombo, finished the under 15, 200 metres in 26.7 seconds to equal the previous game record.

Under 15 (Girls') 200 m: 1. Dhanushi Perera 26.7 sec. (Game Record), Ladies College, Colombo, 2. R. M. Amarna Madhumali 27.2 sec., Wariyapola Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya, 3. G. Sudeema Ishankani 27.4 sec., Princes of Wales College.
