COLOMBO: A multimedia company has filed a petition before the
Colombo District Court against Tissa Nagoda Vitana stating that he
obtained money misleading them by claiming the right for five songs they
planned to use at Musical Shows in Australia.
The Plaintiff, Yusuri Multimedia Pvt Ltd, Sydney, Australia cited
Tissa Nagoda Vitana as the respondent and stated that they organised two
musical shows in Australia under the name "Rantaru Reyak" in 2004. They
were organised at Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Region Theatre on
August 8 and 14 with the participation of many artists.
Plaintiff said that when all the arrangements were made Tissa Nagoda
Vitana claimed that he had the right of songs namely Jeewana Gamana Me
Sansare, Chandra Me Re Paya Awa, Malakin Malakata, Heena Hatak and Obage
Hada Magemai and asked half a million for using those songs in the show.
Petitioner further said since all the arrangements were made they
agreed to pay him Rs 100,000 and paid it on August 2, 2004. They hoped
to telecast the show's recording through the television channels in Sri
Lanka and Tissa Nagoda Vitana asked for the rest of the money to do so.
Petitioner finally stated that Tissa Nagoda Vitana had no right for
those songs and his statement was misleading. Therefore they claim
rupees five million as compensation and to repay the Rs 100,000 he took
earlier. |
