Wijayasena Kiriwattuduwa memorial scholarships for medical students

COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka-Canada Scholarship Foundation, which initiated 'Wijayasena Kiriwattuduwa Memorial Scholarships' in 2006 has selected 17 medical students for 'The Parents Memorial Scholarships' awards.

The students who are economically disadvantaged and succeeded in entering the faculty of medicine in 2006 were eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Out of the large number of applications received, 17 have been selected for these scholarships and they will be awarded Rs. 1,000 per month for the period of 12 months.

The awarding ceremony due in September, will be presided by Dr. Ven. Mirisse Dhammika and it will be held at Siri Sudassanaramaya, Battaramulla.
