NUA condemns LTTE atrocities

COLOMBO: The National Unity Alliance (NUA) vehemently condemned the attack on the innocent Muslim civilians in Muttur, a predominant Muslim area in the Trincomalee district, states a press release issued by NUA Leader and Minister Ferial Ashraff.

Latest information confirms that more than 19 Muslims including women and children have been killed and four schools, an Arabic Madhrasa and a mosque have been destroyed.

The senseless shell attacks have rendered nearly 40,000 Muslims refugees, suffering without food and medical facilities. The LTTE, as a tactical military manoeuvre has infiltrated into the predominant Muslim areas and succeeded in using the innocent Muslim civilians as human shield against the Government Forces.
