COLOMBO: President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said the time has come
to stop all talk and get down to action to steer the country on its
forward march.
Addressing a batch of School Management Assistants who received
appointments to the Teachers Service at Temple Trees yesterday, the
President said enough time has been wasted by a lot of talk with little
action to follow.
"All this time we listened to a lot of talk, now its time to get into
action and contribute with our might for the development of the nation,"
President Rajapaksa said adding that he expected the newly appointed
teachers to lead the way to take the younger generation to a brighter
future.
"Our Government will make sure all communities enjoy equal rights in
our Motherland. In turn it is your duty to work for the prosperity of
the nation fulfilling the responsibilities required of you as a public
servant."
The President said he was the head of a people's government thus
their aspirations, especially those of the working class will be met by
the government under the Mahinda Chinthana program. |
