Army Commander resumes duties today

COLOMBO: Army Commander Lt. General Sarath Fonseka who returned to
Sri Lanka last Tuesday after undergoing treatment in Singapore will
resume his duties at his office at the Army Headquarters today, military
sources said.
According to sources the Commander is due to start his duties at an
auspicious time and is determined to begin from where he left off from
the date he was injured by the April 25 suicide bomb attack.
The Army Commander is also determined to go ahead with his plans to
restructure and strengthen the Army to effectively face the challenges
of terrorism and also to provide a speedy solution for the problems
confronted by soldiers with regard to transport facilities. |
