Two Army personnel killed in claymore attack

JAFFNA: An Army officer and a soldier were killed and 15 others
including three Tamil civilians were injured as the LTTE detonated
another claymore mine targeting a Army convoy at the weekly fair at
Marakanamadam in Chunnakam, Jaffna, military sources said.
According to sources, three Tamil civilians too were critically
injured as they were caught up in the bomb explosion which targeted the
Army convoy.
The 12 others injured in the incident included two Army officers,
eight soldiers and two Police constables.
The incident occurred yesterday at 11 a.m. as the bus carrying
soldiers and Police personnel were passing the weekly fair at
Marakanamadam which was filled with people attending to their daily
needs, sources added.
According to sources the bomb had been planted on a tree in the
premises of the weekly fair.
