'A tomorrow for youth' to harness youth potential

MAHARAGAMA: The potential of the youth remains untapped due to the absence of a proper organisation to solve their problems', said President of 'A tomorrow for the youth' Yoshitha Rajapaksa.

'The aim of the Tomorrow for the youth organisation is to solve youths' problems', he said.

He was addressing a media workshop at Maharagama Manel Hotel, to discuss the preliminaries on the set-up of the organisation's headquarters at Maharagama electorate.

He said the organisation does not pursue any political objectives and will enlighten the government on the problems confronting the youth, empower the youth so as to harness their potential for national development, open up branches islandwide and make 'Mahinda Chintanaya' a reality by galvanising the youthful labour.

Asanka Rajapakse who plays the role of pioneer youth, attached to the National Youth Service Council, organised the event. Ven. Kottawe Somawansa Thera also spoke. Urban Councillor Gnasiri Dayananda and Nishantha de Costa, and Mediamen participated.
