Airline offshore reservation in Sri Lanka picking up

COLOMBO: The airline offshore reservation center business is picking up in Sri Lanka said Director Time Travel and Tours, Samuel K. Coomaraswamy. He said that his parent company based in UK has already set up a center in Sri Lanka and this is proving to be a cost effective operation.

“We have a 16 member staff and are looking at expanding our business,” he said. Coomaraswamy said that though this system is new to Sri Lanka, in India this area is expanding.

Since Sri Lankans have a better English knowledge more airlines offshore reservation centre could be set up. “I know several companies are looking at this option,” he said.

The parent company, established seven years ago, has also awarded a software contract to John Keells Computer services to develop an online flight reservation system. “The investment for this is over US $ 60,000 million,” he said.
