Scholarships for studying Hindi in India
COLOMBO: The Government of India offers scholarships to Sri Lankans
to study Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of
Hindi), Agra, for the academic session 2006-2007.
Applicants should have done Hindi as a subject at G.C.E. O/L or G.C.E.
A/L or have done Prathamic or Madhyama level of Hindi course or any
university degree in Hindi. Minimum age of admission is 21 years and
maximum age limit is 35 years as on 1.8.2006.
The selected candidates will be provided return airfare (economy
class), stipend, hostel accommodation of nominal charges and annual book
grant, states a press release issued by High Commission of India.
For further information and for obtaining application forms, contact
the Information Wing of the High Commission of India, No. 36-38, Galle
Road, Colombo 3 (Tel. No. 2446892, 2422788-89) on any working day
between 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. The candidates are required to present
themselves for a short interview at the time of submitting their
applications.
The last date for receiving duly filled-in application forms in the
High Commission is July 5, 2006. |
