Athletic meet at Negombo

ATHLETICS: Maristonians Sports Association is organising a quadrangular athletic meet on July 22.

Royal, Trinity, S. Thomas' and Maris Stella will compete at the one-day event at the Maris Stella College grounds, Negombo.

The Association's President Sudath Fernando said that this was the first time a quadrangular meet is held outside Colombo with the participation of leading schools.

According to him an exhibition high jump event with the participation of six leading competitors and an exhibition gymnastic show will be held.

A SAF gold medallist Hemalal Priyankara of the Ceylinco Group will be the Chief Guest.

The organising committee is in the process of inviting several leading athletes to the event. AAA officials will judge the events.
