Inter Religious Alliance for National Unity condemns

COLOMBO: The Inter Religious Alliance for National Unity yesterday condemned with adherence the terrorist attack on a civilian bus at Kebithigollewa.

The Alliance in a press release said this attack aimed at innocent civilians including bhikkhus and children demonstrated the cruelty and barbarism of the LTTE which was neglecting its so-called commitment towards peace. The Alliance wished to convey its deepest sympathies to the families of the dead and prey for the quick recovery of the injured.

While calling upon the diplomatic community to lend their support and assistance to the government to prevent such barbaric attacks in future, the Alliance requested the public to beware of LTTE attempts to create panic in the country and assist the Security Forces to maintain law and order.

The release has been signed by Alliance President Ven. Prof. Kamburugamuwe Vajira Thera and Joint Secretaries Ven. Watinapaha Somananda Thera and Rev. Fr. Cyril Anthony.
