CMTA commends govt. decision
TRANSPORT": Chairman, Ceylon Motor Traders' Association (CMTA)
commended the Government for taking a decision to allow importation of
900 brand new vehicles to be used as taxis in Sri Lanka.
"This decision will enable to strengthen country's ailing public
transport system to some extent.
We strongly appeal all vehicles be brand new and supported by local
distributors so that government's expectation will fully met", said CMTA
President, Suren Abeyagoonasekera.
"We urge the Government to recognise the necessity to strengthen
transport system brand new and reliable vehicles rather than allowing
the inflow of used and discarded vehicles imported", he said. |
