Rupasinghe hints another war

Rupasinghe pointed out that there were indications of another war
erupting in the North and East and urged the Humanitarian agencies to
prepare themselves to assist the innocent civilians affected by the war.
Dr. Rupasinghe was speaking at a symposium on tsunami and aftermath,
organised by the Muslim Council at Sumithrayo, yesterday. Several
humanitarian agencies participated at the workshop. Dr. Rupasinghe in
his address said:
"There are reports from Jaffna, that the resurgence forces will go
into action once the current Advanced Level Examination is over.
Unconfirmed reports said that LTTE's political wing leader S. P.
Thamilselvam has addressed in Zurich that once he returned to
Killinochchi, he would announce on their preparedness of facing another
war," Dr. Rupasinghe added.
He also urged the humanitarian agencies to do whatever possible to
prevent the calamity of another war and prepare themselves to assist the
innocent civilians, in case of another war. |
