Suntel partners Microsoft in bridging the digital divide

PARTNERSHIP: Suntel recently entered into a partnership with Microsoft to assist with the latter's "Bridging the Digital Divide" programme. People living in rural communities in Sri Lanka often lack the power, knowledge and influence they need to change their lives and improve productivity.

Having identified this gap, Bridging the Digital Divide programme initiated by Microsoft, aims at enabling such rural communities through effective use of technology and providing access to information technology (IT) skills training with particular focus on providing opportunities for employment in the IT field and other industries.

Suntel has assisted these seven projects by offering voice and Internet facilities. Having the largest CDMA network in the country and an islanwide coverage makes it possible for Suntel to provide communication to reach the corners of Sri Lanka.
