MCA Snooker from Sunday

SNOOKER: The fourth MCA Mini Snooker championships to be conducted at the MCA table from June 10-16.

The championship is sponsored by Metropolitan Communications Ltd for the first time. Sixteen cueists will be seen battlingwith their cues on the MCA table to carry away the Snooker title for the year 2006. Milinda Mallikarachchi (Mackwoods) is the top seed while Chaminda Fernando (J.L. Morison) is placed as the bottom seed.

The other 14 cueists in fray are: Chris Ferdinands and Janaka Perera (Metropolitan Communications), Chaminda Madanayake, Achira Welikala and Samudra Amunugama (Soft Logic), T.N.T. Abdeen, G.A.R.N. Shiffa & Shamal Ambawatte (Mackwoods), Thilak Champika (Seylan Bank), Mahesh Wijewardena (Singer SL), Ishak Sahabdeen (Glaxo Smith-Kline), Lalith Gonalagoda (Emerchemie), H.U.U. Buddhima (Prestige Automobile) and Gamini Wickramasinghe (HNB).

General Manager, Metropolitan Communications, Anil Gunawardena handed over the sponsorship cheque to the President of the MCA, Adel Hashim yesterday at the MCA Boardroom.

Assistant Sales Manager, Chris Ferdinands and Sales Manager, Janaka Perera were also present from the sponsors.

The Tournament will be conducted by the MCA Indoor Recreation Committee, comprising, Ameer Muthuwappa (Chairman), Ridmaal Fernando (Secretary) and M.T. Martis (Marker)
