Special allowances not curtailed
COLOMBO: The Health Ministry says it has been brought to its notice
of an attempt by an organised group to spread false-information that the
medical officers' special allowances have been terminated by the Public
Sector Salary Circular No. 2006/6.
"This is a total fabrication and the Ministry of Health wishes to
reiterate that there is no such curtailment of special allowances
hitherto paid to the medical officers by the same circular," the
Ministry stated in a media release.
Prize day
COLOMBO:The prize distribution of the All Ceylon Inter Pirivena
Language and Literary Contest will be held at the Vidyaratana
Vidyayatana Pirivena on June 19.
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake will be the chief guest.
Education Minister Susil Premajayantha and Higher Education Deputy
Minister Nirmala Kotelawala will also participate.
Discussion
COLOMBO:A discussion regarding the 'All Ceylon Tamil Language Day
Competition 2006' will be held under the patronage of Director of Tamil
Language Unit at the Education Ministry auditorium on June 13 at 10 a.m.
All regional co-ordinating officers have been invited.
The Tamil Language Unit has also requested articles to be published
in the Koormalhy magazine.
All articles should be sent to the Director of Education, Tamil
Language Unit, Ministry of Education, Isurupaya, Battaramulla.
Celebration
COLOMBO:The Navodya School Week celebrations will be held from July
15 to 21 with the participation of 458 Navodya Schools.
Shramadana campaigns and other development activities will be
conducted this week with the participation of the community.
The Education Ministry will provide these schools with funds to
purchase equipment and tools needed for these activities, a Government
Information Department release said. |
