Chalitha a medal prospect
Former Sri Lanka number one ranked paddler K. S. T. Chalitha Ranjana
of Seylan Bank is one of the brightest prospect for a medal at the
forthcoming South Asian Games table tennis championships to be staged in
Colombo in August this year.
Ranjana who is sponsored by NITTAKU sports goods clinched the men's
singles title at the senior nationals in the year 2000, 2002 and 2004.
Earlier he was the junior national champion in the year 1996.
Ranjana also put up a fine performance to win a bronze medal at the
Commonwealth Games table tennis championships in 2004 in Malaysia. He
was the number one seed in the year 2002 and 2004 and has captained the
Sri Lanka team for several international tournaments.
Ranjana is coached by A. W. Anuralal and he is very much grateful to
Ajith Pasqual, Shirly de Silva and Uditha Kaluarachchi all from Seylan
Bank. |
