WEBSITE LAUNCH: The official website for the forthcoming South
Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka was launched on Thursday at the
Galadari Hotel. The website which has cost a sum of Rs. 16 million is
totally a free of charge affair for the games organisers, said Dinesh
Saparamadu speaking at the ceremony.
He said this is a project which is a concept handled by its
Consultant IT expert, Tilak de Silva of Sri Lanka Telecom." Saparamadu
said that his company hSenid Software International thought it fitting
to help the organisers in a big as it needs IT system to be at its
highest level for an international event of this sort.
This project provide facilities to all participating countries to
make their registration through this on line service. In addition to
this aspect there will also be all other requirements needed by foreign
competitors.
It will serve in locating even their Hotel accommodation and internal
transport arrangements. These are highlights that give the foreigners
the convenience in sorting out their problems apart from their
competition information.
The newly launched website for the games will be
www.sagtencolombo.org.lk. He said all above information and upto date
results could be had on this line.
It will also be of vital importance for all media to have results
from one centre towards this the hSenid Software International has made
arrangements to collect information from various centres as quickly as
possible, said Saparamadu.
He also said that this is the first occasion that his company got
involved in a project of this nature locally. Though we have established
overselves in America and Singapore and was also able to win an
International IT award.
My company's combination with games organisers will not only boost
for us but also for the whole country on the international map.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Jeevan Kumaratunga who was the
chief guest on the occasion said that this is a historic occasion as
this will be the first South Asian Games come out with website that feed
with all upto date matter for the whole world.
He thanked hSenid Software International for coming forward to
support this national endeavour which is sure to bring great honour for
the country.
Hemasiri Fernando, President National Olympic Committee answering a
question said that all precautionary measures will be made to feed the
Immigration and Emigration authorities to ensure smooth flow of the
participants through their ends. Ministry Secretary S. Wirithamulla too
participated in the ceremony. |
