Tea production increased in March

TEA: The Sri Lanka Tea Board announced that, the total reported production of tea in Sri Lanka during March 2006, amounted to 29,691,369 kg as against 24,879,328 kg, produced during the corresponding month in 2005. This shows an increase of 4,812,041 kg or 19.3%.

The total tea production during the year 2006 amounted to 77,517,696 kg, as against 73,069,669 kg, produced in 2005, showing an increase of 4,448,027 kg or 6.1%.
