CMSC Land Rover Rally 2006 results

RALLYING: The Ceylon Motor Sports Club [CMSC] together with the Land Rover Owners Club [LROC] held the CMSC/Land Rover Rally recently with the participation of more than 30 competitors.

This rally was conducted mainly to find the winner on atiming basis, where the drivers handed with photographic as well as visual clues.

The event drew large crowds who were anxious to see more than 30 Land Rovers parked in a convoy. The event was open to Land Rovers and also to other 4 wheel drive vehicles as well, and in addition there was a special stage for motor cars and motor bikes.

The event started from the Land Rover workshop at Kirula Road and the drivers after a briefing vaded their way to finish in the evening opposite Land Rover Showroom in Colpetty.

The drivers had to make their own calculations for distances and speeds who were armed with route map and calculators. Travis Ondaatjie won the Rally with Shafraz Junaid and Mansur Hassan taking the runners up positions.

The prize distribution was held at the Land Rover showroom in Colpetty.
