GCE (A/L) on schedule
COLOMBO: The GCE Advanced Level Examination this year begins
on May 22, according to Anura Edirisinghe, Co30mmissioner of
Examinations.
The Local Government Elections due in certain areas will not affect
the conduct of the Examination because the Election Commissioner has
decided to use Government institutions other than schools as counting
centres, he said.
He expressed hopes of conducting the Advanced Level Examination in
uncleared areas too without any interruption.
AAP celebrates first anniversary
COLOMBO: The Academy for Administrative Professionals will hold a
'week of activity' to mark its first anniversary from today, coinciding
with the International Administrative Professionals Week.
Jagath Keenawinna promoted DIG
COLOMBO: Senior Superintendent of Police Jagath Keenawinna has been
promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police from April 15, 2006.
Keenawinna joined the Police Force in January 15, 1970 as a
Sub-Inspector and later promoted as Inspector, Assistant Superintendent
of Police, Superintendent of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police.
Keenawinna an old boy of the Central College, Veyangoda and Vice
President of the National Wrestling Federation in Sri Lanka participated
in several sports at College and international events as a National
Wrestler and an Athlete.
He is the eldest son of Yakkala Village Headman, Francis Keenawinna
and Mrs. Keenawinna. |
