People's Bank appointed official banker to Dalada Maligawa

COLOMBO: People's Bank has been appointed the Official Banker to the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. People's Bank will handle all funds and donations made by devotees to the Sri Dalada Maligawa.

The bank will also install two PET machines at the entrance to the temple providing banking convenience to the thousands of devotees and pilgrims visiting the temple.

Asoka de Silva, CEO/General Manager of People's Bank said that they believe that their involvement and contribution towards society development has also helped them earn the respect and trust of our large customer base.

On the other hand, the Sri Dalada Maligawa has thousands of devotees who make donations towards the sacred temple, to be appointed as the official banker to the Maligawa proves our strengths and capabilities among the local banking sector", he said.

People's Bank has over 9 million loyal deposit account holders and has recorded over LKR 225 billion in deposits.

The Bank's vast branch network has seen many a positive change with customers experiencing convenience and improved service standards at over 200 branches which have been linked to the new system.
