CIMA first to run company directors' course outside Australia
COURSE: The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has
been licensed as the only professional body outside Australia to deliver
"Directors' Essentials", a highly acclaimed programme for company
directors.
The programme, created by the Australian Institute of Company
Directors (AICD), is the most successful of its kind in the world with
over 2,000 delegates every year. Delivering practical and interactive
sessions over two days, it provides introductory or refresher programmes
for busy directors.
The course will take place at the Trans Asia Hotel, Colombo, on May 5
and 6.
The programme provides a broad overview of directors' duties, board
meeting procedures and the many and varied responsibilities of directors
and boards.
It identifies the duties and liabilities of directors, introduces
best practice governance and board meeting processes and provides
insight into finance, strategy, risk and governance within a range of
organisational structures.
The programme is led by two experienced professionals, General
Manager, National Education at the AICD, Pamela Murray-Jones, and
Principal Consultant of Leading Edge Change, Australia Aubrey Joachim.
For the past twelve years, Murray has focused on the development of
executives, most particularly directors and boards. Her experience
includes evaluation, solutions development and individual development
consultancy, with a particular focus on improving director and board
performance.
Joachim has over 25 years of financial management experience with
global conglomerates, including Unilever (UK), the US oil and gas
company, McDermott International Inc, and has been a Financial Manager
with Sydney Water Corporation. |
