Queens inter-club tennis champs

TENNIS: Queens Tennis Club won six titles and the overall championship at the inter-club championship doubles tournament conducted by the SLTA to win the inaugural Typhoon Mirando Memorial Challenge Trophy donated by Janashakthi and the overall challenge shield donated by Aggreko.

The inter-club tournament, which attracts large number of tennis players in the island, saw Queen's emerging winners very convincingly.

Queens Club went to win the division 2 and 6, ladies division 2 and also to win three senior events by taking the over 35, over 55 and over 65 titles.

They were runners up in division 4 and over 45. Queens victory was spearheaded by former national players of repute comprising Arjun Fernando, Sriyan Senadeera, Niranjan Cassiechetty, Aendra Bandaranaike, Chammika de Silva, Rajiv Cassiechetty, Lalin Senadeera, Sriya Munasinghe and Oosha Chanmugam.
