Compose barrels to fight pollution

WADDUWA: Environment pollution is common not only in urban areas
today but even villages are facing the same situation.
This is a major health hazard to the people which make them sick.
The Western Province Environmental Authority is educating the people
in keeping their environment garbage free.
The Central Environmental Authority has taken a decision to implement
eight projects in Kalutara district. The first was implemented in
Matugama electorate at Neboda urban area.
Compose barrels were distribute to selected houses in the Neboda
town. R. Walpola the deputy director of Central Environment Authority of
Education educated the people how to use compose barrels to convert
garbage into fertiliser.
The selected householders assured that they would utilize the compose
barrels as instructed by the Central Environment Authority.
Anura Polwatta the president of the CEDA Environmental Organisation
said, "It is a great service to the country, if the people co-operate to
implement this new project and garbage of their houses be managed
properly".
The project has implemented by CEDA Sri Lanka Environmental
Organisation with the collaboration of the Central Environment
Authority.
The compose barrels were distributed to the people of Neboda Urban
