Indrani Bogoda's lilting songs on CDMusic: The return of Indrani Bogoda to the music scene will be applauded by music lovers. Her latest CD and cassette "Ma priya himiyani" was launched recently at Vijitha Trade Centre, Colombo 1. The CD and cassette contain 19 popular hits including "Pem kela Waradata, Ahasa Usata, Mage Neela, Monalisa, Widuliye Eliye, Warada Ape nam, Hiru Wadina Mawathe, Mankade Langa Handawe and Neelawarna."
The music is directed by Susil Amarasinghe and Dinesh Bogoda. The melodies are by Chandradasa Bogala, Rohana Weerasinghe, Kalani Perera, Shelton Weerasekara and Amarasiri Pieris. The lyrics are by Daya De Alwis, Ariyasena Waduge, Dalton Alwis, Christie Gunasekara, Ajantha Ranasinghe, Swarna Gunawardena, Rathnekumari Amarasooriya, Premakeerthi de Alwis and Yamuna Malini. The title song "Ma Priya Himiyani" is written by Karunadasa Sooriyarachchi. Indrani Bogoda started her music career as an " A" grade singer at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and she became popular with her first song "Seethe Diye Ral Gala" written by her husband Dharmadasa Paranagama, to her elder brother Chandradasa Bogoda's melody. Incidentally he was also her music teacher in school. She continued her singing career with Swara Warna, Prabuddha Gee, Geetha Tharangani, Nava Padamala and Ragadhari programs. She is a past pupil of Beliatthe Maha Vidyalaya. She says she is lucky to be born into a family of musicians. She released her first and second song collection "Dewa Mandire" and "Obey Atha Gena" with Rohana Siriwardena and "Seetha Diye Ral Gala" was her own original song collection. She is thankful to Rathna Lanka Abeywickrama, Daya De Alwis, Madawala S. Rathnayake, G.S.B. Rani Perera, Abeywardena Balasooriya and P. L. A. Somapala for all the assistance given to her. |
