Under privileged schools get cricket equipment

Equipment: Cricket equipment to the value of Rs. One million to 12 under privileged schools in the country, was distributed by Shyam Bhatia a Dubai based businessman and cricket promoter at the Sri Lanka Cricket grandstand at Maitland Place yesterday.

The schools, which benefited by this fine gesture were Veluwana College, Mahabodhi College, Lalith Athulathmudali College, Neluwa National School Galle, Vidyaloka College Galle, Rajasingha MMV Hanwella, Seethawaka MMV Avissawella, Henegama MMV, St. Joseph's College, Grandpass, S. de S. Jayasinghe MMV Dehiwela, Hunumulla MMV, Susumayawardena MV Borella, A. Ratnayake MMV Wattala, Royal College Horana and Gamini MV Kalawana.

Associated with the presentation were SLC interim committee chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa, international cricket commentator Ian Chappell, Pakistan manager Zaheer Abbas and a host of other invitees.
