Puttalam to be Dua's launching pad - Nazeer Ahamed

PUTTALAM: Democratic Unity Alliance (DUA) Leader and Presidential Advisor Nazeer Ahamed said that his party has planned that the development of the Puttalam District would be a show case for his party and that this district would be the launching pad for the DUA as the party moves in the direction of becoming a national party accepted by all people in Sri Lanka whether they are Sinhalese, Tamils Muslims or Burghers.

'The DUA works as a Sri Lankan party and we have solid plans of bringing peace and prosperity to the country on the lines enunciated in the 'Mahinda Chintanaya', he added. He said that the Puttalam district had been neglected by both past and current leaders and that it resembled a remote area.

'Puttalam has taken in a large number of refugees from the North but those in power had not attended to the necessary infrastructure development to cope with the refugee influx 'Nazeer Ahmed pointed out.

'We are going to change all that if you install the DUA in the seats of the Puttalam Urban Council' vowed the DUA leader and Presidential Advisor 'we have honest and hardworking men of the calibre of A.K.M. Ibrahim to attend to the needs of the District.'

N. Ahmed said that promises of some political parties were only good to be written on water but the Democratic National Alliance is a new factor in the political arena bustling with energy and a will to serve the people.

Ahmed urged the people to use their votes wisely and not to be duped by false promises of parties who had been tested and proven to be total failures.

'Trust us we will give you what you need' he promised.
