Lotteries Board contributes to country's development

COLOMBO: The National Lotteries Board while awarding 2,874
million rupess by way of prizes to its winners, it also has contributed
947 million of rupees to the development of the country in various
projects.
Only institution in the country with longest history in the field of
lottery, it has been in the service for the development of the country
and fortunes the people.
It also sponsors, social 'religious' cultural and educational
activities in the country.
For the year 2005 National Lotteries Board has allocated Rs. 155
million for peasant fund scheme, Rs. 498 million to government
Consolidated Fund.
This money is spent for the development activities of afferent areas
of the country, Rs. 120 million to War Heroes Fund, Rs. 100 million for
social welfare and sports, Rs. 18 million for the development of health
sector, Rs. three million for the welfare of labour force in the
country, Rs. 11 million for Samurdhi projects. Rs. 31 million for Sevena
projects and Rs. 11 million for the airport development activities. |
