Thulhiriya Textile Mills to begin operations soon

COLOMBO: The Thulhiriya Textile Mills which was shut down for over three years will commence operations shortly. The Government has successfully obtained a US $ 100 million investment for the factory.

The MAS Investments (Pvt.) Limited will be the project's investors. The company has paid US $ 12 million to the Treasury and the MoU was signed yesterday. The MASL group is planning to set up six different ventures in the property.

Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said within 100 days President Mahinda Rajapakse assuming office, the Government secured an investor to develop this property. - SS
