RMV document forgery: Indictment on March 31

COLOMBO: Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara fixed March 31
for serving the indictment to the former Nugegoda and Akuressa Police
OIC K. D. R. Wasantha Koralage for forwarding a forged document to the
Commissioner of Motor Traffic.
Attorney General indicted W. Koralage on two counts for urging
Commissioner of Motor Traffic Nissanka Wijitha Chandra Piyatilake to
register the Toyota Van CR 27 in the place of GB 7214 that was allocated
to a motorbicycle, which would lead to a revenue loss to the Government.
The second count says that the Wasantha Koralge has done a punishable
offence by forwarding that fraudulent document MT6 prepared to transfer
the Toyota Van CR 27, to the Commissioner of Motor Traffic.
In a statement to the Police the Koralage said that he was a resident
of Homagama and he was an Inspector of Police at the Terrorist
Investigation Division and he was engaged in special duty attached to
the Prime Ministerial Security Division on August 25, 2002 at the time
of giving the statement. |
