Shums Travel celebrates 25 years

Colombo: Shums and Sons (Travels) Ltd is celebrating their Silver Jubilee this year. International Air Transport Association (IATA) have made them a Member of the Association.

IATA membership is a distinctive licence and admirable status in international travel offered only to well established, financially sound, bona-fide veteran Travel Agents in the world.

Shums Travels cater specially for pilgrims to Mecca through its subsidiary company.

Aeroworld (Private) Ltd, formed in 1993, who are the General Sales Agents for Saudi Arabian Airlines in Sri Lanka.

Although their main area of ticketing is Corporate Travel, with blue chip companies, yet they do also focus on students and offer specially discounted students-fares. Another specific area effectively executed by Shums Travel is Eco Tourism, which is gaining ground among foreign travellers to Sri Lanka.

Karim Shums, Managing Director says they adopts to changes in the industry while 'travelling' through their market development programme (MDP). The company is now looking forward to launch their 'Billing Settlement Plan' (BSP) with confidence by introducing high levels in quality and total travel solutions of e-ticketing, which will ultimately benefit the traveller," he said.
