Minister Sirisena congratulates

MINISTER of Agriculture, Environment, Irrigation and Mahaweli Development, Maithripala Sirisena has congratulated Sri Lanka's first gold medallist at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games - Chinthana Vidanage.

He has commended the feat of the record breaking weightlifter from Palugasdamana, Monaratenne in his home town of Polonnaruwa.

Minister Sirisena has conveyed the warm wishes of people of Polonnaruwa, stating Vidanage's historic feat in Melbourne yesterday has made Sri Lanka proud.

"It's great for a son of a Polonnaruna farmland to win a gold medal at a global event like this," the Minister has stated in his message.
