Scholarship to study in Hong Kong University
COLOMBO: Lingnan Liberal Art University Hong Kong offers a full
scholarship for a foreign student to enroll in the university for
undergraduate studies beginning September 2006, states a Ministry of
Foreign Affairs media release.
Applications are being called now. The candidate will be awarded HK$
100,000 per year for coverage of tuition, hostel and other expenses.
Students can apply for Bachelor of Arts (Hons), Bachelor of Business
Administration or Bachelor of Social Science programmes.
Application deadline is March 31. More details can be obtained from
www.in.edu.hk. Application procedure is given in the website.
JCTU hails President
COLOMBO: The Joint Council of Trade Unions (JCTU) has hailed the
decision of President Mahinda Rajapkse to appoint a fresh Salary
Commission to resolve the issues pertaining to the State Salary
Structure and to recommend a National Policy on Salary for the State
sector employees.
The JCTU Convenor Alavi Moulana in a media release welcomed the
decision of the President to appoint a Salary Commission anew with
former Civil Servant Lionel Fernando and former Governor Saliya Matthew
co-chairing the Commission.
The JCTU said they welcome and appreciate the efforts of the
President and were thankful to him his forthright decision in appointing
the new Commission. |
