British Airways increases flights from Bangalore
LONDON: British Airways today announced an additional flight
out of Bangalore. Effective from 4 May 2006, the number of flights from
Bangalore to London Heathrow will be increased from five to six per
week. The new flight BA118 will take-off from Bangalore international
airport at 05: 45 hrs (IST) on Thursday and arrive at London Heathrow
Airport at 11.50 hrs UK time.
"British Airways had recently launched the route connecting Bangalore
with London-Heathrow. The response on the new route has led British
Airways to advance its plans and add more frequencies out of Bangalore.
The increase of frequencies will further enhance convenience, giving
passengers more options to choose from," said Alok Sawhney, British
Airways Manager, India.
The airline also rationalised its flight frequencies to and from
Chennai. Beginning 4th May 2006, and will be operating five times per
week from Chennai to London Heathrow
British Airways views India as a significant market and has made a
number of announcements recently for the Indian customer, including the
launch of a new route connecting Bangalore to London-Heathrow, the
launch of Double dailies in Mumbai, and Delhi beginning 8th April 2006.
British Airways has been operating in India for 76 years and
currently operates 35 flights per week from London Heathrow to five
cities in India. With the addition of these flights British Airways will
operate 42 direct flights per week from India to London Heathrow.
