Old Anthonians win challenge trophy

CRICET: Past cricketers of St. Anthony's College, Wattala led by Roshan Iddamalgoda won their cricket match beating the present school cricketers by 7 runs.

The match was played at College ground Wattala.

It was organized by the past cricketers of College. Mahesh Kanthan of the past cricketers was named Man of the Match while Buddhika Sampath and Asanka Nanayakkara of the college team won the Best Batsman and Bowlers award respectively.

Ajith Alexander, Niroshan Perera and Travis Fernando gave away the awards.

Rev Fr Luxman Peries (Master in charge cricket), De Silva Thanapathi (principal) and Hirantha Perera (Former school boy cricketer) were present at this occasion.

On behalf of the past cricketers Lakmal Perera handed over cricket equipment to the school.

Noel Jansz thanked the organizing committee for organizing the match and the past cricketers for their participation.
