million in Vitharandeniya, Beliatta under its project of Rekiya Bihidora.
It is a national programme of the Ministry of Rural Industries and
Self Employment Promotion to create 100,000 self employment
opportunities in the country.
IDB Chairman Jaliya Nawinna told the Daily News that this centre
would contribute to promote villager's livelihood. It will facilitate
them to start their own business under the guidance of the IDB.
It can also be utilised as a resource centre, which provides
technology and raw material to manufacture finish products in their
houses.
This is the second centre to be set up under the IDB to create more
self-employment in the country and it would expand throughout the
country to increase well-trained and talented people.
It would benefit them to gain job opportunities in the private sector
as well. The IDB provides resources such as engineering support,
management knowledge, machinery, loan facilities and direct marketing.
If anybody needs to be a self-employee, the IDB is always open for
them.
