100th Battle of the North from March 9

Jaffna Central vs St. John's

CRICKET: The 100th encounter of the "Battle of the North" will be played on March 9, 10, and 11 at Jaffna Central College grounds.

This is one of the oldest encounters to be played in Sri Lanka. Old boys from all parts of the country as well as from overseas started arriving in Jaffna to watch this historic event. Out of 99 encounters, St. John's were won 33 times where as Jaffna Central has won 22 times.

This year St. John's, captained by N. Navageethan, won four (4) out of seven (7) matches they played while Central, captained by G. Maheepan won three (3) out of eight (8) matches.
