Don't be mere file finders, Amunugama tells Administrative officers
COLOMBO: Administrative officers should not be mere file
finders but officers who have to take up the responsibility of taking
the correct and the best decisions promptly, said Public Administration
and Home Affairs Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama.
He was speaking at the inaugural seminar of the three month training
course for 53 new recruits to the Sri Lanka Administrative Service,
appointed following a limited competitive examination for public
servants in 2001.
The course began at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo 7
under Dr. Amunugama's patronage.
The Highways Minister who is the Deputy Minister of Public
Administration T.B. Ekanayake, Home Affairs Minister Chandrasiri
Gajadheera, Ministry Secretary D. Dissanayake and SLIDA Director T.M.K.B.
Tennekone also spoke.
