Formula Plus competition winners receive awards
Achievement Awards: The winners of the Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI)
Formula Plus motor insurance competition held from September 1 to
December 31, 2005 received their awards recently. Thirty-seven field
sales personnel received their awards (which included an air-ticket
each) and 58 received merit certificates highlighting their remarkable
performances in sales.
The award ceremony began with the 'Achievement Awards', which
recognised sales personnel who had obtained a predetermined premium
income of Rs. 250,000 over and above their sales performance for the
corresponding period in 2004.
The winner of this competition was, K. L. Nandasena, who won the
'Platinum Award', had obtained a premium income of over Rs. 5 million of
motor insurance premium, compared to the corresponding period last year.
In addition, Mr. Nandasena also received a five-day tour for two to
Singapore and Hong Kong with US$ 200 spending money. Further, Mr. E. S.
Fernando of the Gampaha branch, who obtained a premium income of over Rs.
2 million received a 'Gold Award' for his achievement and won himself a
five-day trip to Hong Kong and Singapore.
The 'Silver Award' was presented for sales personnel who obtained
over Rs. 1 million of motor insurance premium compared to the
corresponding period last year, and was won by seven field sales
personnel who received a trip to Singapore as their award. A unique
feature here was that the sales personnel responsible were able to
obtain this premium income within four months of the competition date.
Ten field sales staff who contributed over Rs. 750,000 in premium
income for SLI, for which they won the 'Bronze Award', won a three-day
trip to Singapore.
Eighteen field sales personnel who contributed more than Rs. 500,000
in premium income compared to the corresponding period last year, a
'Plate' award was presented. The presentation of certificates followed
to 58 field sales staff who has achieved a premium income level of Rs.
250,000.
The ticket-draw section based on a series of 'Blue' and 'Red' tickets
printed specially for the competition and high performing field sales
personnel were drawn into these two separate sections based on
predetermined competition criteria. This section saw 30 prizes being
awarded.
Hence, a field sales person who had obtained a high level of sales
was eligible to receive more tickets in a particular colour and hence,
had a greater possibility of receiving a prize at the prize draw.
The first, second and third placed winners received Rs. 500,000 (the
'Super Prize'), Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 100,000 respectively. The fourth to
sixth place winners each received Rs. 50,000 while 7-10 prize winners
received an air ticket each to Singapore. The balance 20 prize winners
received a two-day holiday in a star class hotel in Sri Lanka.
Of the 345 field sales personnel who were eligible to attend this
ceremony, J. C. Gunawardane and S. C. Rupasinghe won Rs. 500,000 in the
grand draw.
