Second largest business mail company here

POSTAL SERVICES: South Asian Mail (Pvt) Ltd signed an agreement with the Department of Posts to become the second largest business mail company in Sri Lanka, recently.

The agreement was signed at the Postal Department Headquarters in Colombo between the Post Master General Shervin Senadeera and South Asian Mail (Private) Ltd. Managing Director D. M. I. Dissanayake.

The Post Master General said that there was a steady increase in revenue from the Business Mail Company in Sri Lanka. The income they got from the new service was Rs. 46 million in 2004, Rs. 68.6 million in 2005. and the Department targeted Rs. 1000m in 2006 he said.

"Our idea is to create a Business Mail within the Sri Lanka Mail at an affordable cost," he added. Speaking about the Business Mail service, he said Security was 100 percent and it was a win win situation for the provider and the customer.

He also said that more than 70 percent of the letters received would be sent within the following day.
