SOCCER: Ranjith Rodrigo is elected to Negombo football league
for the sixth consecutive year
Ranjith Rodrigo Negombo Youth President has been elected as the
Negombo Football League's President un-contested for the ensuing year.
This is the Sixth consecutive year that Rodrigo has been elected as
the President of the Negombo Football League. He has held this post
without a break since 1999.
Rodrigo holds three main posts in the soccer scene Treasurer FFSL,
Negombo President and Negombo Football League President. Meanwhile other
posts in the Negombo Football League too were un-contested.
Negombo Football League is one of the main leagues affiliated to the
Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL), has 19 football clubs with two
premier league-playing clubs- Negombo Youth and Jupiter's Sports Club.
Under his leadership Negombo Youth carried away the 2002/2003 and
2005/2006 Kit Premier League Championship and Premier League Runners-up
2000/2001 and 2001/2002. And also the Kit Champion of Champions Cup
2005/2006 and Runners up 2004/2005. Negombo Football League will hold
their Annual General Meeting today.

Vice Presidents - Stanley Perera (Don Bosco SC), Kapila Perera (Red
Rose SC), Lal Peries (O.V.O. SC), Shaly Salgadu (Super Youth), Jude
Karunarathne (Kurana United SC).
Secretary - Philip Francis (Negombo Youth SC).
Assistant Secretary - P. Wijeyakumar (Western SC).
Treasurer - Duncan Weerasinghe (United Star SC).
Assistant Treasurer - Dilip Fernando (A.K. United SC).
