O/L results out by March 20

COLOMBO: The results of the G.C.E. O/L Examination held last year is expected to be released by the Department of Examinations on March 20, an Examination Department spokesman told the Daily News.

"The final evaluations are being conducted at present and we hope to release the overall results on or before March 20," he said.

According to the Examinations Department, a total of 526,629 candidates have sat for last year's O/L exam, of which 378,702 were school candidates and 147,927 private candidates.

Meanwhile, the GCE A/L examination for 2006 is scheduled to be held from April 21.

The Examinations Department noted that the deadline for the applications has been extended till February 28.
