Angelo out of World Cup
CRICKET: Sri Lanka's under 19 World Cup captain Angelo Mathews has
been ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a leg injury.
Manager De Silva said that Mathews had torn a muscle in his left leg
and medically had been advised to get rest for two weeks.
Sri Lanka's request for a replacement for Mathews has been granted by
the ICC under 19 World Cup technical committee yesterday.
De Silva said that Roshane Silva will replace Mathews and he is
likely to play in today's Super League play-off semi-final against
Zimbabwe at the SSC grounds.
Vice-captain Sameera de Zoysa will lead Sri Lanka for the rest of the
tournament. |
